Krsnacandra Dasa – Vrndavan: I am writing in tribute to my dear friend Aindra Prabhu in remembrance of him and his friendship. Aindra Prabhu was like no other devotee in Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON. He was a very special soul who touched the hearts of so many devotees.

Even though he was what one could truly say a Senior Disciple of His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada he was very humble and sweet as a friend. We both shared in common a love for Srila Prabhupada and understanding of what Srila Prabhupada wanted of us as devotees, which formed the basis of our friendship.

Aindra Prabhu was many things to many people but to me and my family he was our dear and intimate friend and we are all missing him terribly on this day.

On his last birthday (2010) he celebrated it with a public program but the next day he came to our home to celebrate it in private and we cooked for him and he of course ate heartily and we all laughed and talked about our service and plans for the future together which was what usually happened each time he would come over.

Aindra Prabhu was not what you would call a company man. He was a Sankirtan Man and a Prabhupada man and was only interested in doing his service; which was the Twenty Four Hour Kirtan Program, Chanting his rounds and serving his Deities, he was not interested in the trappings of institutional ISKCON. The one thing very special about Aindra Prabhu was that even though he was serving in the Temple he was not political or ambitious. He never aspired after institutional glory nor did he play politics with other devotees.

Our friendship together was what I understood a devotional friendship should be. In him I had finally found a true friend that could laugh at some small instance, discuss at length the problems associated with geopolitical influences in our movement and then talk about Krsna and how we can get to know Him more…

We simply adored cooking prasadam for him as he would eat with such relish and animatedly express his joy at everything. Today a small group of his intimate friends are coming over and we are cooking all of the preps that he relished with such enthusiasm for them to share in our remembrance of our dear friend.

To my dear friend Aindra Prabhu all our love and dearest wishes are with you as yours are with us…

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada
