Indulekha Devi Dasi – Australia: The Bhaktivedanta Investigation Force (BIF) claims that Srila Prabhupada was poisoned. We can certainly see symptoms of poison throughout his movement. The symptoms are manifest by the difference between the objectives we claim to be striving for (Krishna’s pleasure) and some actions being performed or allowed to be performed.
The Hebrew Book of Proverbs (6:16-19) lists seven things the Lord hates most: …
“These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief. A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.”
– King James version of the Bible –
Allow me to relate this to us devotees with ISKCON origins. I will also use the word “devotee” loosely in order to describe these scenarios. In reality these “performers of devotional service” should not be Krishna’s representatives. The persons in the following comparisons are out there amongst us, but will remain nameless in order to illustrate the points being made.
A PROUD LOOK has become a criterion for advancement amongst certain devotees who now make believe humility means to obey. In reality though, humility is not a standard set for he who is junior, nor does humility mean for one to be meek and weak. Humility is to know one’s position in reality; constitutionally a servant of Krishna. An elder is to be offered respect, but when he claims superiority by intimidation, arrogance, and of course the pride of being an ACBSP etc., he becomes one like Duryodhana who was very proud being Dronacarya’s disciple and the son of a king. Pride causes degradation by the illusion of one’s greatness or superiority over others. In Krishna’s kingdom the qualification is pure simple love, attained by sincerity and devotion in action.
A LYING TONGUE. To Lord it over others, one who deliberately changes the words of Krishna whilst supposedly speaking the Song of Krishna (Bhagavad Gita) becomes a liar. He who claims to represent God by external words and acts, yet engages in illicit or cheating activities, is a liar. Many have been cheated by the false words of such devotees, their faith destroyed by this falsity. Our movement’s foundations start to crumble when in order to save face our small lies turn into bigger lies. Teaching others to speak untruths in order to collect funds for the indulgences of unqualified gurus is witnessed by the masses. When the masses can’t see truth in the actions of devotees they see us as liars; in other words, misled fools who are part of a cult. How is this preaching? Even a sincere attempt will be interpreted as lying.
HANDS THAT SHED INNOCENT BLOOD. Because it is not yet obvious to all does not mean it doesn’t pervade. Several murders have occurred within the walls of ISKCON. There is the vicious fighting of Godbrothers who desire to please their gurus who covet wealth and power. Drugs and guns to raise funds shed blood. Whether directly or indirectly, some of us have been used to support these activities. These activities have become a part of what is supposedly Lord Caitanya’s sankirtan movement. What a farce! There is much abuse also, both physical and psychological, of woman, children and the real brahmanas amongst the devotees.
A HEART THAT DEVISETH WICKED IMAGINATIONS. A good example is when a dirty old man (late 60’s) preys on a distressed young girl (24 years) to conceive. In order to fulfill his objective he creates a scenario and cons her to believe she is a pure devotee of the Lord, and he is an apostle of the Lord, and how together they are to save the six billion fallen souls of the world by their preaching activities in Krishna consciousness.
FEET THAT BE SWIFT IN RUNNING TO MISCHIEF. Often, to cover one’s own misdeeds, one will create false situations to harm the reputation of others, or try in some way to give trouble to others or destroy them. These distractions are malicious and conniving smokescreens. We cannot claim to be innocent children in a playground any longer for we now have knowledge and experience.
A FALSE WITNESS THAT SPEAKETH LIES preaches to the innocent or convinces the unwary of the purity of one suspected or engaged in questionable activities, One who protects a pretender in order to “protect the preaching, Prabhu” also falls into this category.. We can justify it however we like, but we exploit the innocent and cheat ourselves, causing much harm to many, when we don’t speak against such child molesters, homosexuals, womanizing brahmacaris, thieves or murderers because they are our “mates”. Even by naivety our acts may end up being that of a false witness that speaketh lies. A false voice ends up giving strength to those who mislead the devotees.
HE THAT SOWETH DISCORD AMONG BRETHREN. Any devotee who gets in the way of my desires yet to be fulfilled or knows of my sinful ways will be destroyed by my knowledge of the fact that dissension is the greatest strategy in war. Sitting back I laugh at the bewilderment of those fighting like kids in my playground. My path remains safe, sound and secure… ha… ha… !
These seven hates of God are now a part of our preaching movement; this is real, not imaginary. For those who have no experience of the above as yet, please at least reflect on the experiences of others. To blindly follow is food to the sinful and it ultimately defeats the purpose of why we became devotees in the first place. “God is Great” is known in all religions. So why are we, devotees of Krishna, acting against God’s pleasure?
