Kṛṣṇacandra Dāsa – Śrī Vṛndāvan Dham: New York Governor Eliot Spitzer was caught being involved with prostitutes and resigned citing ‘personal failings’. Spitzer’s political platform was that he was a fierce enforcer of ethics in public life but he too fell from grace and resigned for not being able to maintain the standard that he himself set. Kind of like Prabhavisnu Dāsa the only difference is that our Prabhavisnu Dāsa can come back into office after a history that is many times worse as this mundane political leader, for Prabhavisnu touted himself as a bona fide spiritual master and a paramahamsa Sannyāsa.
There was another case where several Buddhist Monks who were leaders [Similar to our GBC Gurus] of the Jogye Order which has 10 million followers were videoed smoking, drinking and gambling but resigned after being exposed in the Newspapers.
They broke with their religious tradition and were caught red handed and did the right thing by resigning from their positions.
The six leaders of the Jogye order tendered their resignations as the head of the order, who goes only by the name Jaseung, issued a public apology, promising “self-repentance”
Although they are the spiritual leaders of a ten million strong following with a lot to lose they resigned and promised ‘self repentance’ but what happens to our leaders such as Indradyumna Swami who has a penchant for taking photos of semi naked girls or hugging them affectionately? What happens to Prabhavisnu Dāsa, a self admitted whoremonger? They get to go on as if nothing has changed even though they break the most sacred vows of the Sannyāsa order and cheat and betray their disciples.
Disciples that will support their debauched lifestyles tooth and nail…
The sentiments found in some comments on the expose of a Rabbi involved with a prostitute echo that of ours where the followers abhor such disclosure of one of their leaders and claim that to make this public is wrong:
“ Such unfortunate occurrences are to be sorted out discreetly, not aired online for haters to rub their hands in glee dancing on his blood” or;
“He did not molest kids. he possibly only fell for his Taivos! he is normal and only went a little to far.. (and btw why all of you who watched the video- are you an better?)”
These comments are uncannily reminiscent of many of the comments found on this website by the followers of Prabhavisnu Dāsa and of course any bogus Rubber Stamped Guru of FISKCON.
The idea given by these people who speak up in support of the wrongdoers is that the wrongdoer is somehow right even though they themselves know that what their guru / mentor / political leader did was wrong. Further that public figures who claim to be religio/spiritual leaders must be held above reproach and if they are reproached for wrongdoing then the old biblical adage of ‘let he who has sinned cast the first stone’ is brought into play in an attempt to make their accusers feel guilty and drop any charges against their guru or leader.
Of course gambling is illegal in South Korea but so is it in ISKCON but how different are these monks, who freely use luxury hotels and have so much cash that they can do what they desire, to our ISKCON Sannyāsī Gurus? How many of them fly around the world at the drop of a hat and stay at five star luxury hotels, visit prostitutes and take photos of semi naked little girls with cameras that would take us years to be able to afford to buy? How many of us can afford to fly to our friend’ss birthday bash in Dubai or spend tens of thousands of dollars refurbishing our bathroom in Vṛndāvan? Or own luxury homes in Vṛndāvan dham or around the world in Beverley Hills or Thailand and Fiji???
Oh what a wonderful bunch of reprobates we have as our leaders in our glorious ISKCON society and what a stupid bunch of disciples who will happily follow them to hell…
